March edition of....
month to month photo montages of our explorations in south 'merica
Welcome to this month´s edition of our monthly photo collages. JC and KC write to you from Lima, Perú, from JC´s workplace at La Casita de Panchita, an NGO that works for domestic worker rights. Here JC paints murals and teaches English to the women who participate in the organization. KC is here for the week, distracting JC from her teaching and painting to go to the beach and eat mucho ceviche (Ceviche, a raw fish dish prepared with onion, lime and cilantro mmmmm).
March's Theme:
Puppy Surprise
The background photo was taken by JC sola (without KC) in the Peruvian jungle in San Francisco, near Pucallpa last April (pronounced with a hard L, not like a double spanish L because it is not a Spanish word). It is common to see sleepy doggies in South America, but what a delight to see that it has a house! The only other dog from Perú in this collage is the one located in the bottom right corner, the famous Peruvian Hairless dog who, according to Wikipedia, has its origins in pre-Inca cultures (El perro sin pelo).
From the top from left to right:
A spunky lil´dog from Laguna de Quilota, Ecuador, was happy to pose for us...look at that smile! From the bucket on top of the dog house poses Rambo, a young Ecuadorian boy from the Amazon community of La Serena (near Tena, Ecuador) who proudly shows us his puppy. On the right we see a valient canine on top of his rock guarding his master´s household from a rooftop in Vilcabamba, Ecuador. The white puppy scratching his lil head next to the perro sin pelo is from Chugchilan, Ecuador. Qué bonitos todos! How beautiful all of the dogs!
Until next month,
KC and JC
